BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) — Despite the chilly weather, Bills fever is spreading fast ahead of Saturday’s playoff at Orchard Park.
“I don’t care if it’s below zero. I’ll be on that ground when our boys win,” Bills fan Jennifer Benson said. “I have chills. We’ve been waiting for this game all season.”
“It’s so nice to have a team that we’re really passionate about,” Bills fan Dan Greco said.
Former Bills player Eric Wood said the excitement didn’t surprise him.
“The bill mafia always comes out big,” Wood said.
And Wood said he knew the energy would be unmatched on Saturday.
“It’s going to be so much fun to have this place packed and give these players what they deserve,” Wood said. “A real home field advantage.”
As fans gear up for the Bills’ first playoff game of the season, so do businesses like local grocery stores and pizzerias.
“It’s a home playoff game, so everyone is preparing for it,” said Bocce Club Pizza general manager Chris Gasz.
Gasz said he expects a 30% increase in business.
“Most of our employees work that day,” Gasz said. “We just try to work as efficiently as possible.”
Tops and Wegmans said restaurant orders were also up. Tops said it was already seeing 15% growth in orders and expected more on Friday. But grocery stores and restaurants said it was better to plan ahead.
“We’re trying to tell people to pre-order,” Gasz said. “Just so you don’t get stuck in the queue.”
And fans, wherever they look, are ready for a win over the Patriots.
“This is our year,” Bills fan Heidi Hartnett said, “This is our team.”
“It’s been long enough, enjoy the ride,” Greco said. “It’s going to be a fun few years here.”
